Erzberg Alpin Resort: Dog-friendly holiday apartments in Styria
As we said: When you check into your apartment in Styria, there will be a welcome treat waiting for your dog. He will definitely have earned it after that long trip in the car. You can borrow bowls and blankets for your holiday apartment at the reception desk, whilst we will also be happy to provide you with “poop bags” as well. Fresh drinking water is always available at our holiday resorts – straight out of the tap. Right outside the front door of your spacious apartment, you and your faithful companion will be greeted by glorious nature and the Austrian mountains.
Experienced dog owners themselves, our staff at Erzberg Alpin Resort know precisely where our four-legged friends as well as their mommies and daddies feel most at ease when they are outside of their holiday apartment. Which restaurants and mountain huts are happy to welcome dogs, which routes are particularly suitable for “walkies” and, in the event of an emergency, where to reach the nearest veterinarian. Anita, who works at the reception, shared two of her favorite tours and excursion destinations close to the apartment resort with us in ALPS Magazine. They were also given a thorough once-over and passing grade by her own puppy, Maci.
Leopoldsteinersee: From the Erzberg Alpin Resort, you will reach Leopoldsteinersee, which is roughly 2 km away, in half an hour. You will be able to complete a walk around the lake – about 4 km – in one and a half hours. Dogs are welcome year-round at this turquoise, shimmering natural jewel. A little extra refreshment on hot summer days works wonders for humans and animals alike. So, you will be happy to hear that dogs are also welcome to splash about in the lake. Anita’s tip: Circle the lake in a clockwise direction.
Grüblsee: At the Präbichl, you will find “Alpen Aquarium Grüblsee”. This man-made facility is actually the highest diving station in Europe. Dogs are also welcome next to and in the lake. Grüblsee is approximately a 15-minute drive from the Erzberg Alpin Resort.
Our reception also has contact information for a local dog association. In Eisenerz, just 400 m from your apartment, you will find the grounds of the Austrian Purebred Association, which you are welcome to visit with your dog by appointment.
